One of my favorite kind of blog posts to read is routines. There’s
just something so fun about how each person has their own way of doing
things! Today I wanted to share with you all my summer morning
routines, now that I’m not worrying about school. I’ll start with the
days that I’m off, and then I’ll end with the days I have to work.
Let’s get started!
My Days Off
1. Lay in bed for a few minutes. So glamorous, I
know. But seriously, laying in bed for a little while helps me to wake
up better. I always set my alarm 15 minutes before I need to actually
get up. If you will fall asleep if you don’t get up, this is probably
not a good idea. But once I’m awake, I’m good! Also, I want to start
stretching once I get out of bed!
2. Drink water & get breakfast. Starting off
your day with water is so important! You’ve been asleep for 6-10 hours,
and really are dehydrated when you wake up. Drink a cup of water right
when you get up! Then I fix my breakfast. I usually have a paleo
muffin (these are my fave) or roasted potatoes, eggs, and fruit. I try to start my day off nutritiously to give me energy!
3. Sit down & eat. Next, I sit down and
actually eat my breakfast. During this time, I usually check my emails
on my phone and spend a little time on Instagram. I also take my
vitamins.
4. Have my quiet time. The most important part of
my day! I read my Bible, pray, and just focus on Jesus. It starts my
day off right and gives me strength. I love doing the Little Bible Plan from Little Faith Blog at this time!
5. Get dressed & ready. Next, I pick up my room
and make my bed. If I’m going out that day, I’ll usually use this time
to do my hair, makeup, and get dressed. This is a great time to listen
to music! If I’m not, a lot of times I will write a blog post or even
get my workout in!
The Days I Work (or have somewhere to be early)
1. Lay in bed for a few minutes & drink water. The
days I work start off pretty similarly as my day’s off, but I’ll
briefly go over them as well! I still lay in bed for 15 minutes, and
start my day off with water.
2. Have my quiet time. This is where the 2 routines
differ the most! When I wake up early I’m usually not hungry yet, so
sometimes I’ll do my quiet time first. It’s not as long and relaxing as
on my off days, but still so important!
3. Make my breakfast & eat. I eat the same
things on the days I work! I also sit down, eat, and check my emails
& Instagram (just not as long, haha) the same way.
4. Get dressed & ready. After I pick up my room and make my bed, I’ll get dressed and do my hair and makeup. I don’t look quite as cute on these days
5. Get everything together & go! Once I’m
ready, I take my vitamins and get everything together that I need to
bring to work. I then put my shoes on, grab my keys (is this key fob
not the cutest?? sorry this one is back ordered, I got mine at a local
boutique. they have other cute ones!), and head out the door!
I hope you enjoyed that! Mornings are one of my favorite parts of the day.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
So, tell me. Are our morning routines similar? What is different?
What is most important for YOU to do in the morning? What is your
favorite breakfast food? I’d love to hear from you!
